Updates, Progress, and Stragglers

Well, it's July. I'm not sure how it happened, but apparently time passes no matter what. And so here we are. Might as well carry on I suppose.
Stragglers!
Please! If you have not already, please complete your backer survey in Backerkit. Check your email and spam folder and reach out to us if you can't find the survey. Or go here to send yourself a new survey.
We still have 122 unanswered surveys. Once we close those, we'll be able to place orders for more of the physical rewards. So, please do it!
For all of the backer rewards, the design work is finished and we can proceed with ordering once we finalize numbers / quotes / etc.
Progress!
As we wait for quotes and the inevitable back-and-forth with printers, I've had a few spare cycles to return to the book and add in a couple of fun tweaks. This week I got the color profiles and export options from our chosen printer and have exported what I foolishly believe to be the final version of the book. Once confirmed, we'll update the PDF in Backerkit so that digital backers have the latest and greatest as well.
I'm hoping that we'll be working through proofs shortly.
Sketchplates!
Vil has been toiling away on the many, many sketchplates that he has to draw. They look awesome, and the work is almost done. Once he finishes these, he'll be shipping them from Brazil to New York so that we can get on with signing everything, adding stamps and making up stupid D2 tables.
What's Next for Glumdark?!
I'm not sure! The two most-obvious answers are to either work on the rule system I have in mind or to begin working on Glumdark Space content for a second book. As of now, when there's nothing I can do to get the book printed faster, I'm just waiting for inspiration to strike again while doodling and making little notes to myself about what might be cool or funny.
But if you have anything you'd like to see us create, let us know in the comments. Or if you have questions about anything, I'll answer anything I can.
Cheers,
CTRO + EF
🎉 All digital backer rewards are NOW AVAILABLE! 🎉

Yep. That's right, we're launching all of the digital backer rewards right now!
You should have the following available in Backerkit today:
- A pre-release edition PDF of Glumdark, the book.
- Download codes for the Glumdark dungeon synth record.
- Token URLs for a year of premium glumdark.com access.
- An STL file of the Glumdark Spider ("Frank")
We wanted to get the PDF of the book in your cold, digital hands as soon as possible. Getting it out into the world before it gets finalized at the printer means we have a short period of time to make corrections if any are found. We also just wanted you to have it as soon as possible.
Please let us know if you have any issues accessing any of the content. Currently, it is being distributed on Backerkit to those who have locked their orders.
If you feel like remixing the STL file, I heartily encourage you to do so and share your work with the community. If you're a producer and are interested in remixing any tracks from the dungeon synth record, get in touch!
Enjoy!

Join The Listening Party and Catch the News
The Glumdark album is finished! Join us to hear Glumdark (Vol. 4) for the first time. While you're there, we're going to be announcing some big news about the book!
Click here to RSVP to the Listening Party!
At the listening party you’ll be able to listen to the album with other Kickstarter backers. You can also chat with us about the book and the record, and about everything we're working on. Plus meet other Glumdark fans.
Or just be a lurker, that's fine too.
Either way, swing by if you want to be the first to hear the album and catch the news!
Other Tunes
If you wanna listen to some new tunes before the record drops, I just released a very-different-sounding new track with my friends in the Atlanta band CHEW. It's a banger that we've been sitting on for a while and I'm very excited to have it out in the world.
Give it a listen here:
See you at the party!

Pledge Manager Closing, Cards Charging, and a Note About Tariffs
over 1 year ago
– Mon, May 05, 2025 at 11:14:51 AM
Hey everyone!
Pledge Manager locking and cards charging this week
A quick update to let you know that we are starting the process to lock orders today. You will get a notice soon that you have 48 hours to make any adjustments before your order is locked. Then after 48 hours your card on file will be charged on Wednesday 5/7. Addresses will not be locked until closer to fulfillment so you can change your address as needed*.
If you have any questions with your pledge or need help please reach out to us at [email protected].
(*Note some change of states or countries require assistance, so just reach out to us and we can help you with that!)
Update on Tariff Impact
In order to keep the books at the current retail price we will continue with the plan of printing the books with our partner in Lithuania, Standart, as quotes we have received for the books from printers in the US are about double the cost. While books are exempt from the current reciprocal tariff, they are not from the current 20% fentanyl tariff. We will wait until closer to fulfillment to see if the tariff is still in effect and asses at that time what the impact will be, if any, on US backers. We prefer to avoid charging backers any additional funds, but we may ask for US backers only to contribute a very small optional amount (most likely less than $2) if they are able to.
We will address this again closer to the shipping of the books. Thanks so much for your understanding with this evolving situation.
Book Progress
Look out for an update this month on the progress of the book and other deliverables.
Thanks so much!
